Something needs to be done

Lane Kiffen left Tenn to take the USC job and is taking his Dad with him, as well as Norman Chow will be back as well, from all reports. I think USC will basically become united sanctions college. It will be fun to watch what happens with them.

Anyway, something should be done, if a coach can just leave at any time and go to another school and start right away, so should a player. especially when players gone to school for the coach a lot of times, not the school, especially in football where they have to be there at least 3 years. Of course if a school can fire a coach at any time I guess they can leave at any time too. But maybe, just maybe it should change that every coach gets at least 3 years, if not 4, and are not fired unless a major problem happens off the field. Also in that 3 years, they could not leave for another job, unless they have to sit out one year before taking it. Will this never happen? of course not, not even close. But it's fun to talk about, if there is better options then the one we have now. I just love how fans always have great things to say when they take your coach, it's a better job, your school is a steeping stone job, not a destination like our school, he was doing what was best for him and his family, who would turn down a big raise, and then when their coach does the same thing to them and leaves for another school, they go crazy, and tear the guy apart, they can't believe it happened. It makes me laugh a little. Especially since this has happened to me first hand at my school, CMU. Bk left for Cinci a day after wining a conference title game and telling his players get use to this feeling, it will be happening a lot. All the cinci fans were fine with it, saying how much better a job it was, how BK would never leave them because they are a destination job, yeah, and then what happened a few years later, BK leaves right after the big east title game and they flip out, when we all tied to tell them it would happen. It made me laugh. Truthfully he may be doing the same thing again in a few years to ND when he will leave them for a NFL job.

The lesson, just enjoy your coach when you have him, and hope he does well, if he leaves for another job for more money, that means he did well for you, which is great, so be happy for him, thank him and wish him the best, and support the next one, and hope he does the same thing, and continues success. You will all be happier in your college rooting life if you do this, just trust me.

Some good college basketball last night:

CMU beat BSU by 15 at home, they played well, and really defended well.. this is important to no one not a cmu grad, but I am, so deal with it

Kansas held on at Nebraska, the big 12 home record is sick right now, so road wins will be hard to come by this year... or it is because they all had easy non conference schedules and besides Texas and Kansas no other team is really that good.

MSU had a nice tough home win against Minn last night. I will stand by, besides Iowa, there are 10 other teams who can get wins in that conference, it is a great conference. Purdue, MSU and OSU, with ET, and really Wisconsin, because of their style and how well they play it, and Coach Ryan, any of those 4 teams have a chance with the right draw to make the elite 8, and MSU and Purdue both could make the final four. Wis had a nice road win at Northwestern, that team is better then most think.

Clemson did some major work at home to UNC and got a big ACC win. I liked Clemson this year, I thought it was their chance with Booker being a SR and UNC loosing so much, they did lose at Duke, but this was a great win for them. God I love college basketball. I'm right, you're wrong.
